Bangladesh’s exports of sanitary ware, ceramics and other products increased by 4.91% in fiscal year 2023
According to data from the Bangladesh Export Promotion Agency, exports of ceramic products (tiles, tableware, and sanitary ware) increased by 4.91% year-on-year in 2022-2023;
Exports will grow by 32.95% in 2021-2022 kuma 11.23% in 2020-2021.
“Manufacturers are unable to keep their factories running at full capacity due to insufficient supply of natural gas, which is the main reason why the industry did not achieve the expected export growth in fiscal 2023.” Irfan Uddin, Secretary General of Bangladesh Ceramic Manufacturers and Exporters Association express.
The government stopped buying LNG directly from the international spot market last year to prevent foreign exchange reserves from depleting, resulting in a chronic shortage of domestic production, a sharp drop in energy supplies, and a natural gas crisis that rippled through the industry.
Local ceramic manufacturers mainly produce three categories of products: ceramic tiles, tableware, and sanitary ware. Among the 68 manufacturers currently operating, 20 produce tableware, 32 produce ceramic tiles, and the rest produce sanitary ware. (Source: “Daily Star”)

‘Spa-inspired bathrooms’ become hot home trend
The rise of spa-inspired bathrooms, or “spathrooms,” is among them, along with the use of metallic materials, sustainable solutions and “immersive” designs that combine key elements of commercial and residential spaces. The latest trends in home design, according to a major new report.
Published by Cosentino Group, a global provider of sustainable surfaces for construction and design, the report is based on a survey by market research firm IPSOS, as well as insights from leading designers, architects and design-inspired homeowners.
Cosentino said that in the post-pandemic world, the lines between home, work and play are “further blurred” – leading to trends such as the rise of “immersive” design in commercial and residential spaces.
When asked what elements of a resort or hotel they would most like to incorporate into their own homes, homeowners and design professionals alike said spa-style bathrooms and indoor/outdoor patios were at the top of their list.
