The London insurance market has classified the southern waters of the Red Sea as a high-risk area. Analysts at Norwegian analytics agency Xeneta predict that ocean freight rates could rise by as much as 100% depending on the scale and duration of disruptions to the Suez Canal route.
If the situation in the Red Sea worsens further, the detour or suspension of ships will have a greater impact on the global supply chain.
